The owner of one child care center was having a really bad Monday. The center director put a group of kids in the van for the trip to school. Backing out of the driveway she ran into another car, and in the confusion that followed she put the van into drive and ran into the front of the child care center's building. |
| Two of the children in the van were slightly injured in the accident, the driver of the van broke her arm, and the driver of the other car had a concussion. The owner of the center hurried to get the kids out of the van and in the rush jerked one child up out of his seat by grabbing him under the arms. |

While everyone was distracted another child got out of the van and wandered away. Twenty minutes later the center staff realized a child was missing and notified the police. It took two hours before an officer found the child walking around the neighborhood and phoned the parents. |
